There's something we've noticed in ourselves and in moms around us ... a heaviness, and a need for burdens to be lifted. A need for there to be less on our plates, less on our minds, and less on our hearts.

If moms hear one more thing that they aren't doing right, it seems that we’ll all collectively hit our knees in mourning and despair. There are enough hard things, and it’s so easy to just stay there. We cope in a myriad of ways: we joke, we eye roll, we let our kids go untrained and undisciplined, we escape, we eat, we exercise, we work, we do whatever we can to get out from underneath the weight of our calling.

We go everywhere except the one place that not only lifts our burdens, but replaces them with giant helium balloons.

Moms need refreshing truth to be repeated over and over and over. In every moment—when we think we’re doing a good enough job and when we think we’re the worst mom on the planet. And that's what we care about communicating here at Risen Motherhood:

The good news that when we live in light of the resurrection of Christ, we can have a secure identity and be part of a bigger story—God's redemption story.

This is a community that will remind you of gospel-truth, no matter how you feel about your motherhood. It's for the imperfect mother, still learning, still growing, and still fully recognizing she doesn't have it all together, but we serve a God who does.

Risen Motherhood® exists to encourage, equip, and challenge moms to apply the gospel to their everyday lives.

“I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; on the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the one holy church both visible and invisible, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

— Apostle's Creed

We believe the Bible is the infallible Word of God. It is without error and never changes. The Bible is trustworthy, true, and what we build our entire life upon. We affirm all 66 books of the Bible, from the Old Testament to the New Testament. As women of God, we treasure the Bible and seek to live out what we read and study each day in loving obedience to our God. (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21)

God has always been, and always will be. He is omniscient (all-knowing), omnipresent (always with us), and omnipotent (all-powerful). He created the entire universe and mankind and He holds all things together. He is one God existing in three persons, referred to as the Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1 , Deuteronomy 6:4)

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life on earth being both fully God and fully man. He died on the cross, taking on our sin and punishment, so that we could have new life and a right relationship with God. After being crucified, He rose from the dead three days later and has ascended and now sits at the right hand of the throne of God. Jesus is coming back again to rule and establish His kingdom on earth. (John 1:1-18Colossians 1:13-22)

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. After Jesus ascended into Heaven, God sent the Holy Spirit to be our counselor, comforter, and keeper. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sins, and equips the believer for ministry and life. The Holy Spirit lives inside of all believers and testifies to the will of God. (Genesis 1:2Acts 1:8, Ephesians 1:13-14)

We believe that salvation is only through Jesus Christ. We are saved by grace through faith, not by our own good deeds but through Jesus' righteousness and shed blood on the cross. All of mankind are born sinners and in need of a Savior. Christ came to rescue us from our sins and offer atonement on behalf of us. The gospel is the "good news" of Jesus Christ, and we believe that we should live our lives to share the gospel through word and action! (Romans 3:23Romans 10:9, Ephesians 2:8-9)

The church is the body of Christ that is called to live out God's mission today. It is not a place, but rather the body of believers. (Matthew 28:19-20Colossians 1:81 Peter 5:1-5)

We believe that marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman. The marriage bed is sacred and sex is a gift of God between a husband and wife in the confines of marriage. We believe that the wife should love and submit to her husband as the church loves and submits to Christ. We also believe that the husband should love his wife as Christ laid down His life for the church. (Ephesians 5:22-33)

What people are saying:

What I wouldn’t have given for a podcast like Risen Motherhood in my early years of mothering! With just the right mix of grace and truth, Laura and Emily remind listeners of the hundred ways that God nurtures and cares for us while we nurture and care for our own children. Risen Motherhood is the perfect companion to those long weary days and sleepless nights, bringing you grace upon God’s good grace.

I came across Risen Motherhood a couple months ago ... and it has been such an encouragement to me. God has used this podcast to shift my thinking of motherhood from “just getting through the day,” to “this is eternal work I’m doing.” Seriously, I would recommend this podcast to all mommas out there who need Christ-centered reminders that our work is not in vain, we are impacting our children (even in the small things) for the Kingdom of God!

Motherhood throws some of the toughest challenges our way. It’s easy to feel lonely, isolated, and ill-equipped. And, often, just at the moment we finally start discussing our fears, frustrations, and questions with another mom, the drink spills, a fight breaks out, or we hear a loud crash in the adjoining room. Risen Motherhood offers a place to be still and listen to warm conversation, friendly advice, and Biblical insights from real moms who are in the middle of the mothering years themselves. And, the good news? If something spills, you can press pause and pick right back up where you left off! Risen Motherhood is a wonderful reminder of the importance of motherhood, as well as the good news of the Gospel.
— Melissa Kruger, Editor at The Gospel Coalition
I love how the podcasts are gospel-centered because it IS easy as a mom to go into a sad, self-condemning spiral when you’re confronted with your weakness and sin. But I also like how it doesn’t leave you feeling complacent or resigned to “this is just how I am” but reminds us that we are redeemed to grow in holiness and, by the Spirit, we can fight sin and grow in the areas where we are struggling.

This podcast has been such an encouragement to me and everyone I’ve passed it along to. These two girls are open and honest about motherhood and their own imperfections all while pointing themselves, each other and listeners to the sweet Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even if you are not a believer, I think these podcasts are worth a listen.

Risen Motherhood is an answer to prayer. Being a mama can be a lonely road—one where you think you are the only one who has troubles and piles of never-ending laundry. But it isn’t that at all! In motherhood, we meet Christ in the mundane of everyday, and we aren’t meant to live life alone; we are meant to be in community with other believers. Through Risen Motherhood, I have been able to find encouragement to do just that. Emily and Laure are real life mamas who come just as they are. They speak from their heart and their greatest desire is to glorify Jesus above all else! Through their words, wisdom, and guest speakers I have been greatly encouraged and inspired to disciple my children and live for Christ. Doing those never-ending piles of laundry is actually a joy now, because I have Emily and Laure right there on my phone, speaking the life of the gospel into my weary mama heart.

Risen Motherhood is so much more than another “mom hacks/tip/how to be more organized/intentional” podcast. Laura and Emily take us through the heart of what it means to show Christ-like love in the everyday and offer encouragement for moms of all racial, socioeconomic, and marital statuses. I love how heart-centered and scripture-based their content is.

I began listening with a cynical attitude, expecting “fluffy girl talk” with a dusting of Christianese. My cynicism turned to pleasant surprise and delight when I realized this podcast is rooted SOIDLY in scripture. Grateful for these ladies’ transparency and encouragement in all things motherhood.

“The ladies at Risen Motherhood believe the gospel is *the* good news for moms— that there’s no better news, practical tips, or wise advice that could be shared. The gospel alone is the power of God for salvation. I commend this gospel-centered ministry to every mom who wants to see how Jesus is with her in her mothering work.”
— Gloria Furman, Author of "Missional Motherhood" and "Treasuring Christ When Your Hands Are Full"
Less than a year ago a good friend introduced me to the Risen Motherhood podcast. I was surprised by the short and sweet episode length, the content, and that every episode pointed back to the gospel and Jesus. This podcast quickly became my go-to favorite! The topics are relevant to motherhood and not only is it encouraging, but it offers great, trusted resources. I’m so blessed by these godly women and their commitment to encourage other moms to focus on the redeeming truth of the gospel.

Emily and Laura do a great job talking about all the different things we as Christian moms go through, but at the same time constantly admonishing listeners to reflect Christ in EVERY aspect of their lives.
