The ministry has ended, but God’s work continues.
learn more about the ministry’s closure from our co-founders
A note from Emily and Laura, co-founders of Risen Motherhood.
If you’ve landed here, you may be wondering what Risen Motherhood was—and why this website looks the way it does now.
Maybe someone handed you one of our books.
Maybe you stumbled across an old podcast episode or interview.
Maybe you heard the name in passing and came looking for more.
We’re glad you’re here.
Risen Motherhood began in 2016 as a small, unexpected project between two moms trying to make sense of motherhood in light of the gospel. We were sisters-in-law, friends, and young mothers ourselves—recording early-morning conversations, stacking mics on books in our basements, and pressing “publish” without much of a plan beyond obedience to what God seemed to be asking of us next.
We assumed it would be short-lived.
But God had other plans.
What began as a five-episode podcast grew into hundreds of conversations reaching millions of women around the world.
Over time, Risen Motherhood expanded to include articles, studies, book clubs, live events, and a small team of women committed to helping moms apply the gospel to everyday life. Again and again, we saw God provide—often in ways we couldn’t have orchestrated or sustained on our own.
From the beginning, we were aware that this work didn’t belong to us.
Risen Motherhood was never the source of transformation; it was simply a conduit.
God did the work.
For a decade, we had the privilege of walking alongside women in some of the most tender and demanding years of their lives. We watched babies arrive, faith deepen, questions sharpen, and hope take root. We are endlessly grateful for what the Lord allowed us to witness and steward during those years.
And then, after much prayer and discernment, we came to the conviction that it was time for Risen Motherhood to come to a close.
This decision was not driven by burnout, conflict, or crisis. The ministry was healthy and the work was fruitful. But our families were entering new seasons, our sense of calling was shifting, and we felt clarity that the most faithful thing to do was to end Risen Motherhood intentionally—while the message was still clear and the joy still present.
We didn’t want to cling to something simply because it was working.
We wanted to model what it looks like to hold even good things with open hands, trusting that God’s work is never dependent on a single platform or ministry.
In May of 2026, we officially closed the active ministry of Risen Motherhood. What remains now is this page—an intentional marker of a finished work and a lasting legacy.
Risen Motherhood was never meant to be a brand you followed forever. It was a framework—a way of seeing motherhood in light of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
That vision doesn’t end when a podcast stops or a website goes quiet.
It lives on through our published books, which now serve as the most enduring expression of the Risen Motherhood message. It lives on in local churches, living rooms, and conversations where women open Scripture together and help one another remember what is true. And most importantly, it lives on in the daily faithfulness of mothers walking with Christ in ordinary life.
If you’re looking for more, our books are the best place to find it.
And if you’re wondering what’s next for Risen Motherhood, the answer is simple: nothing—and everything.
The ministry has ended. But God’s work continues.
We’re grateful you stopped by. We’re grateful for the years we were given.
And we’re confident that the same God who began this work is still faithfully at work in you.
