Ep. 175 || Emily & Laura's Favorite Things

At R|M, we love sharing great resources! In this all new episode, Emily and Laura share a Top 10 List of best products to encourage and equip us in our relationship with the Lord along with gift ideas for kids and some of their personal favorite books. As much as we love these beautiful, intentional, and creative resources, we hope they ultimately point you to Christ and his word. Resources can be helpful, but only God’s word is essential.

We’re grateful to Operation Christmas Child for helping make this week’s show possible! Operation Christmas Child provides a simple way for your family to meet practical needs of children all over the world, while also bringing the hope of the gospel. National Shoebox Collection week is November 16–23, 2020, so there’s still time to fill a shoebox with your kids. You can even fill your entire box online!

R|M Apply Questions:

  1. Think about how you engage resources and scripture. Are the resources you use enhancing your knowledge and understanding of the word, or distracting you from spending time reading the Bible itself?

  2. What’s a book or resource that has been helpful in your growth as a Christian? Can you think of someone who might also benefit from it that you could recommend it to or share it with?

  3. What’s an area of your Christian life that you’d like to grow in (prayer, Bible study, discipleship, etc.)? Was there a resource mentioned in the show that might help you in that area?

  4. How might you be able to use a resource from the show to intentionally engage your kids with the gospel?

  5. Does the abundance of Christian resources tend to feel more like a blessing or a burden to you? What challenge or encouragement do you find in the reminder that God’s word is the only essential thing we need to have a thriving relationship with him?
