The Risen Motherhood Book Launch Party!

It’s hard to believe the Risen Motherhood book launched just over two weeks ago! It’s been so fun to receive your emails, messages, and social media posts about how God is using the book’s message in your lives. We love seeing your photos as you read the book amidst piles of laundry, in bed by a sleeping babe, or over coffee with friends. And we even received a photo of it from the top of a mountain! Thank you for celebrating with us!

Last week we gathered together with about 100 close friends and family to celebrate the launch of the Risen Motherhood book. It was wonderful to take intentional time to rejoice in God’s goodness and kindness to Emily and Laura and to the entire R|M ministry. Thanks to a generous donor who wanted to specifically provide for this event, the evening recognized the accomplishment of publishing a book, and more importantly, honored the God who makes all things possible. We rounded up some photos of this incredible night taken by our very own, Kaitlin Simmons, to share with all of you.

For the special event, we commissioned an 8-foot tall iron replica of our logo. Then our talented florist, CamBam Custom Floral, added flowers in the same colors and style as our album artwork. It was stunning to see it come to life before our eyes!

It’s always wonderful to have the Risen Motherhood team united again. Since we each work from home all over the country, we don’t often get together in person, and we had a blast making this event happen. We want to specifically recognize Amanda Philgreen, our Partnerships Manager, worked tirelessly to plan and execute the event.

So people would recognize the R|M team, we each wore a temporary tattoo of the book’s cover art on our arms for the night. It was so fun to “wear” this beautiful piece of art!

Laura and Emily’s publishing team from Harvest House, and literary agent, Andrew Wolgemuth, also flew to Iowa for the event. It takes a village to produce a published book and we were grateful they were there to celebrate with us. Their role was irreplaceable in helping this book come to life.

In addition to our life-size album artwork, we also commissioned a four-piece floral art installation to represent the four parts of the gospel that are in nearly every chapter of the Risen Motherhood book: Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Consummation. It was breathtaking to see how the florist brought our vision to life, creating a stunning interpretation of the beauty of Creation, the death of the Fall, the new life Redemption brings, and the even-more glorious Consummation that awaits.

And of course, Kaitlin came through for us yet again, drawing from her well of many talents, using her hand lettering to write the gospel-stages in gold pen on the leaf of each floral creation.

During the evening, Laura and Emily, their parents, and their publishers and agent had a chance to speak and celebrate the book. But perhaps the most memorable part was at the very end. Right after board member, Eric Schumacher, closed us in prayer, a bright, shooting star flew over the corn crib stage. The entire crowd gasped, and it was better than any ending we could have dreamed up! People initially thought we launched a firework, but instead, it was just an incredible gift from God!

The entire night was filled with food, laughter, and true enjoyment of community. We’re grateful for the many local businesses that supported us, including desserts from Stallie’s Sweets, coffee from The Filling Station, and stationary from Alpha Copies. In addition, our friends at Sycamore Woods and Wares did an outstanding job on the dessert table design.

It was such a gift to have friends and family join us from around the country to celebrate the joys of God’s faithfulness over the past few years and the amazing things he has done.
