Most moms want to be in the word amidst the busyness, but we just need a little help. This is why founders, Raechel and Amanda, started She Reads Truth – to see women get in the word of God everyday. In this episode, Raechel and Amanda, wives, mothers, and authors, discuss how women need to be rooted in God’s word, taking the first step by just getting started. By changing our expectations of “quiet times” and studying with other women, we can find the refreshing hope of the gospel in the Bible that has relevant application in each season of life.

In the season of little ones, it can be hard to be in God’s word everyday. There are night wake ups, early risers, snack requests, and constant needs. But carving out time for you and God is always worth the fight. If everything else in life seems chaotic, surprising, exciting, or upside down, know that God’s word remains true for all of eternity (Is. 40:8). When we need a sure thing, we can open our Bibles and find him.

Our natural inclination is to wait to start studying our Bibles – in both trials and joys. But often times, reading God’s word is how the Holy Spirit opens our eyes to the beautiful work he’s doing in our lives. All we need to do is start. What keeps you from studying the Bible regularly?
Many women believe that studying the Bible can only be done during the illusive “quiet time” with that hot cup of coffee and perfect morning light, but God invites us to His word at any hour of any day. What are your expectations for Bible study? Do you think God gives those same stipulations for studying his word?
We all have freedom in how, when, and where we study the Bible. And for moms, Bible study can look different depending on the day! While it may be easier to read in the quiet, that’s not always a realistic expectation. Let’s think about the rhythms of your home. How can you easily incorporate the Bible into your day – listening to the audio Bible in the car, reading out loud to your kids during breakfast, using a Bible app in the carpool line, reading before bed?
Raechel and Amanda explained that there’s a difference in knowing that reading the Bible is important and knowing it’s urgent. How do you treat things that require urgent action? What would it look like if Bible study was the highest priority in your life? How would your day look different?
Out of his deep grace, God gave us the Bible to know more about him. Everything we learn about God from studying his word will only cause us to love him more. And when we deeply know and love God, we are able to share our joy with our children. How can you invite your child to read God’s word and learn about him with you?
